Watch Service & Repair
Need help with a watch that has stopped, is running poorly, or needs attention before you wear it again? SMD WatchWorks handles watch service and repair across a range of brands and movement types. Tell us about your watch and what it needs, and we’ll explain the next steps.
Watch service & repair
Common requests include:
- Inspection and troubleshooting: An initial look at the problem and a recommendation for the next step.
- Battery and rechargeable-cell replacement: Conventional quartz batteries and selected solar watch cells, including Citizen Eco-Drive models.
- Bracelet and strap work: Sizing, spring bars, strap changes, and selected bracelet repairs.
- Cleaning and cosmetic work: Case and bracelet cleaning, with refinishing considered for suitable watches.
- Parts repairs: Crown, stem, crystal, and other parts work when compatible parts are available.
- Mechanical watches: Inspection, repair, and movement servicing, evaluated watch by watch.
Service availability depends on the watch, its condition, and parts availability. If a job needs equipment or parts outside our scope, we’ll say so rather than accept work we can’t properly complete.
How to request service
- Tell us about your watch. Use the Request Service form. Include the brand, model or case-back reference, what it’s doing, and any service history you know. You can also email support@smdwatchworks.com with clear photos of the front, back, and problem area.
- We review the request. We’ll tell you whether the watch looks like a good fit and ask any follow-up questions. The contact form does not accept photo attachments; if you use the form, we can arrange photos by email in our reply.
- Ship only after acceptance. If we can take the job, we’ll provide shipping instructions. Please do not send a watch before we’ve accepted the request.
- Inspection, approval, and work. After hands-on inspection, we’ll explain the recommended work and cost for your approval before paid service begins. We’ll test the completed work before returning the watch.
What helps us give you a useful answer
Include the watch’s brand and model, a clear description of the issue, whether it runs at all, and anything already tried. For a solar watch, let us know how long it has been exposed to light. For a mechanical watch, tell us about timekeeping, power reserve, winding, or setting problems. Photos of the dial and case back help identify the exact version.
Start with a service request
Service requests are reviewed individually, and we typically respond within one business day. Use the Request Service form to contact us, or email support@smdwatchworks.com if you’re ready to include photos.
